It Pays To Be Healthy

Do you subconsciously think yourself sick in attempts to receive attention? As children we are nurtured and comforted when we are ill. We get the day off school and our parents are at our beck and call for all our demands. Our carers provide us their undivided attention all while sympathising as we battle our illness. Overtime we form the misconstrued perception that it pays to be sick. In reality all we are paying are invoices to our doctors, psychologists and the companies that are feeding off of our insecurity and desire to source the ‘cure’ for our mental and physical ailments. Meanwhile we engage with products and services in attempts to change the parts of ourselves that we deem undesirable.

Life is fluid and nothing is guaranteed, yet we continue to fear the unknown. We are all challenged with our own personal struggles and it is in our human nature to feel a sense of entitlement and to believe that our stressors are worse than those around us, our schedules are busier than those around us and our problems are bigger than those around us. Rather than embracing change, impermanency and viewing the fluidity of life as a beautiful opportunity, we remain in competition attempting to justify how bad our struggles really are in absurd attempts to seek external
re-validation and attention. This serves as a distraction and gives us something to talk about and fixate on, all while feeding our ego as we watch our thoughts and internal dialogue come into fruition. Before we know it, we are attaching our sickness to our identity. We focus on and direct our attention to the wrong things.

Words matter, it matters how we speak to others and how we speak to ourselves. Communication has the ability to influence, achieve and change outcomes to our benefit and to our detriment. Your words carry energy and energy is EVERYTHING (99.99 per cent of everything in fact). What you omit you will receive. Finding peace and acceptance within yourself may not see all hardship and struggle dissolve, however it does provide the foundation for you to rid yourself of your desperate cries for help as you learn and find peace by turning inward. They say there is no place like home. I say there is no place like being your home.

Your life is abundant and there is no space or desire to fear annihilation. Release your desperate defences. You are fully equipped and capable of facing all that is thrown your way.  Everlasting praise and admiration come when you are truly happy and in alignment with your highest self. You can spend your entire life attempting to convince everyone that you are fulfilled and joyous or you can actually put in the work to FEEL fulfilled and joyous. Health is a form of self-respect. It pays to be healthy.
